A number of short quizzes and writing assignments will occur during the term, and scores on these quizzes will constitute 100 points of the overall course grade. An additional 50 points (11%) of the course scoring will be based upon class participation: All students are expected to participate regularly in discussions and any other class activities. In addition, each student will contribute as a discussion leader during the term, on a topic to be assigned by the instructor. The primary basis for determining the class participation score will be the leadership shown in class discussions.

The essay projects should be of appropriate quality as to meet Portfolio Expectations for the Division of Communication Disorders.

Points earned in course assessments will be transformed to percentage values and the departmental grading scale will be used to determine the student's final grade.

     A=90%-100%, B=80-89%, C=70-79%, D=60-69%, E=0-59%

ATTENDANCE POLICY:

Students are expected to discuss any absences with the instructor as early as possible, preferably in advance. This course is a scheduled activity: Students are expected to schedule other activities for non-class times.
