Extra Credit Options

Students may submit an essay or an anatomical model, etc., whose score may be used to replace that of the student's lowest one-hour examination. Written approval for extra credit projects must be obtained from the course instructor before beginning a project. Students are encouraged to suggest creative ideas for papers or projects. Examples of possible topics are listed below:

I. Submit a model of the human;

II. Write a paper [ca 5 pages, double-spaced, plus reference list --- at least five (5) published references (internet citations are not appropriate) which are not textbooks]. Please use the style guidelines published by the APA (American Psychological Association). Papers must focus upon the communication difficulties and capabilities for individuals in one of the following categories;

The student's grade for the project may be used to replace the lowest one-hour examination score for the course

Starting points for investigating these topics;

Project due date is 5:00 pm on the Friday before the last week of classes for the term. No exceptions will be allowed. It is the student's responsibility as part of the extra credit assignment, to verify the current semester's deadline for submitting papers.
