Chewing
- It is very important to help the patient imitate the chewing act quite exactly. This must involve constant movement of the tongue. Exaggeration of the act requires that the mouth be open while chewing.
- The patient should begin by practice chewing in an exaggerated manner.
- The patient should then add voicing, random sounds, words, phrases, sentences and conversation while gradually reducing the degree of exaggeration of the mouth movements
- The patient should use a constant movement of the tongue during chewing.
