Voice Effort

1. The clinician explains that th patient is to rate the amount of effort he/she feels that he/she uses in vocalizations.
2. The patient assigns a number to represent the amount of effort being expended in habitual speech.
3. The clinician should have the patient produce phonations at a minimum effort level, a comfortable effort level, and a maximum effort level.
